The Top 33 Dog Gifts for 2020

Dog and Pup Town presents the coolest things to buy a pooch this year.  These Christmas presents for dogs are not in any particular order.  Also, you don’t have to wait for X-mas to buy your buddy a present.  They would some of these things all year long!

West Paw Zogoflex Zisc

Flexible Hurley Disk

We love this disc.  This is perfect for those just starting out with the Frisbee.  It’s not a hard plastic so you really don’t have to worry about any accidents or cut up mouths.  In addition, when they chew on it there won’t be any jagged plastic pieces to cut your hand.

Just be sure you can throw.  You don’t want to smack them in the head.  You can also wash this thing off in the sink, which is an added bonus.

Dawg Grillz Balls Toys

This is a win-win kind of toy!  Your pooch get a durable ball.  You get countless photo opportunities.  When the ball is positioned right, it looks like a huge smile.  Those pics are allover the internet and they’re funny!  This ball floats and squeaks as well.

Funny pooch ball

West Paw Zogoflex Hurley Durable Bone Chew Toy

I know the title implies it’s a chew toy, but we use it for a fetch toy.  When you throw this bone, it has a crazy path once it hits the ground.  If you get a good bounce, it can easily end up anywhere.  This action keeps your pooch on its paws so to speak.

You should also bring this toy inside when you are done playing with it.  I have lost 2 of them to the foxes.  However, I don’t think you should play with it inside.  It is pretty heavy, and it will cause damage.

Did You Feed The Dog?

Sure the pooch might not like this thing, but over feeding our pets is an issue.  How many times have you filled up that dish, then get told that they already ate?  This gadget takes out the guess work.

To be honest, sometimes I can’t even remember if I even feed them.  Not anymore.

Chuckit! Ball Launcher

This is one of the most perfect gifts I ever received.  Before I got this toy, I use to come home from the park in pain.  My shoulder throbbed for hours from throwing a ball.

Once we got the ChuckIt, my shoulder pain went away.  By using this thing, the ball went 3 times farther and my Lab wore out 3 times quicker.  If you get this, be sure to choose the one that uses regular tennis balls.

The cool thing about this toy is that you don’t have to touch a nasty ball.  You just scoop it up and it stays in place.

In terms of durability, I’m still using the one I got three years ago.  However, the ball that came with it was destroyed within a day.

KONG Extreme Toy

The KONG, old reliable in Chew Toys.  There’s a reason that this chew toy is ranked number one over at Amazon.  A solid 40 year reputation, a durable toy, and fun to throw.  It can totally break a lamp, so be careful where you throw it.

In addition, shove some treats in it for at least 5 minutes of peace.

kong power chewer

Allstar Innovations Wobble Wag Giggle Ball

This a ball that makes giggle sounds as it moves.  There are holes so your pooch can pick it up.  On the downside, you have to pay attention that your pooch  doesn’t really chew on it because it is not a durable chew toy.

Also, the sound can really start to aggravate.  I had to grab it within a few minutes.  For some reason, my Lab only wanted to play with it when I was watching TV.  However, if you have a special person that has a canine and you want to annoy them this might be a perfect gift.

iCalmDog 5.0c

This thing plays music for your pooch.  Don’t worry it’s not rock or heavy metal, but calming music.  Music that has been created to ease canine anxiety.  The music relieves stress and separation anxiety

It has 5 hours of music included on SD drive.  Also, the battery life is 24 hours.

OurPets IQ Treat Ball Interactive Food Dispensing Toy

treat ball

This is one of those toys that can keep your K-9 occupied for awhile.  However, it also has the possibility to drive you nuts!  I’m speaking from experience!

So,  it would be a great gift for that person that gave your daughter some drums for her Birthday.

Bubbletastic Bacon Bubble Machine

bubble machine

We know, it sounds crazy, but canines love this thing.  This machine is exactly what it says it is, a Bacon Bubble machine.  Pooches are always drawn to bubbles.  Of course with the addition of bacon, takes it to the next level.

Just imagine, how much energy your K-9 will burn, while you sit back in a chair.  Check out the video!

On a side note, be sure to use this thing outside.  Floors covered in bubbles is dangerous.

ZippyPaws

pooch chew toy

Not just a regular squeaky toy.  It actually squeaks when it’s shaken.  Also, no stuffing, which is great when it evidently gets torn.  The reviews indicate that it performs well under pressure and is fairly durable.  This would make an excellent stocking stuffer for your 4 legged buddy.

Adaptil Calm Home Diffuser

Sure they can’t play with this item, but they will benefit from it!  This is a diffuser that helps with canine anxiety.  It release feel good canine pheromones into the air.  This will enable them to relax and calm down.  Great for separation anxiety.

My Vet actually told us to get this thing.  It’s a proven method to calm down your pooch.

Outward Hound Fun Feeder Slow Feeder

slow feeder bowl

This is not your typical feeding bowl.  Outward Hound designed this bowl to slow down the eating.  It is ideal when it comes to dinnertime.

Every night my Lab literally wolfs down her food.  She then proceeds to beg for everyone else’s dinner.  This bowl solves both issues.  Plus, it’s dishwasher safe.

Snuffle Mat

dog eating mat

What is a snuffle mat? It is a feeding mat that is designed to mimic forging for food. This strengthen your pooch’s natural sniffing skills and slows down eating. According to the reviews it also reduces boredom.

I hate to pull a Captain Obvious, but it needs to be said.  It would probably be a good idea only to use dry food with this.

StarMark Bob-A-Lot Interactive Toy

This is a great toy that is for a bored canine.  They can spend hours trying to get the treats.  This toys bobbles and wobble while it drops treats.  You can also increase the difficulty for those smart pooches.  This item comes in two sizes, so be sure to get the right one.

Trio Gato’s Outdoor Water Sprinkler Easy Activated Water Fountain Toy

How many times have you went to the outdoor bowl to see some kind of science experiment coming to life?  This fountain will change that!  No more changing out that water bowl.  When your canine is thirsty, they step on the peddle and BAM!  Cold H2O!   Beware that the peddle needs pressure to operate, so a small pooch might not be able to trigger it.

Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Pooch Puzzle – Level 1

dog puzzle one
This is a level 1 puppy puzzle.  If your pooch has never done any puzzles before this is the place to start.  Puzzles are a great way to give your pooch some mental stimulation.  This will reduce boredom which minimized destruction.  Also, this puzzle has 9 removable treat compartments.  Your pooch will remain busy and challenged for awhile.

Foldable Bath and Pool

What is a pool doing in an X-mas Guide?  I know, 75% of the country can’t use this in the winter.  However, 100% can use it in the spring and the summer.  This is a great way to help your fur-ball cool off.  Also, you can use it to give them a bath.  This pool comes in five different sizes, so be sure to pick the right one.

KONG – Wobbler – Interactive Treat Dispensing Toy

kong dispenser

Another Kong toy, the Wobbler.   However, it is different from the one above.  It is a treat and food dispensing toy.   Your pooch actually has to knock it around to get it to spit out treats.  Because of the wobble action, it will keep your pooch on their paws.

Squishy Face Studio Flirt Pole V2 with Braided Fleece Lure

This toy is awesome!  When I was researching dog gifts, I instantly wanted one of these.  So, I ordered one that day.

It took a little while to teach my lab what to do with it.  But once she understood, it was great.  If you want to wear out your pooch, this thing is gold!  Check out the videos for a demo.

Merry Pet MPS002 Wood Room with a View Pet House

dog house

What pooch wouldn’t love this house with a balcony.  This is designed for smaller pooches.  Since it is small, it can go inside or outside.  It is made from kiln-dried cedar.  Has a removable roof for easy cleaning.  According to the instructions it only take 20 minutes to put this together.

Of course my Lab is too big for this thing.  Plus, I have a feeling my daughter would steal it anyway.

Outward Hound Hide-A-Squirrel Puzzle Plush Squeaking Toys

hide squirell toy for dogs

This toy is killing it.  Over at Amazon it has 4.5 stars with over 10,000 reviews.   Basically you hide the tree rats in the tree and your pooch goes nuts.  An interactive toy that makes them think is the best kind.   Remember that a bored pooch is a dangerous pooch.

I bought this last year for my Lab.  She loves it and still plays with it.  It is pretty durable.  However, be sure to pick up the squirrels after the fun.  If they just lay there and chew on it, it wont last.

Chuckit! Indoor Ball

indoor dog ball

This is a great indoor ball.  It is about the size of a softball.  It is light and soft.  So, you don’t have to be too worried about breaking things.  This ball says that it’s for puppies and small k-9s, but my lab loves it.  Just make sure that when your done playing to put it up.  It is not a chew toy and will be shredded fast.

Whistle Go Explore

Whistle Go Explore is a 24/7 health monitor for your canine.  It checks and reports daily activity.  Also, it monitors the sleep quality of your pooch.  With this information you can make better decisions about food, exercise and sleep.

I can tell you right now, your pooch probably isn’t getting enough exercise.  The recommended daily activity is pretty crazy.  I was shocked when I learned about it.

The funny thing is that some of the stuff in this guide will actually help with activity.  Also, they have more colors than pink.

Memory Foam PetFusion Large Bed

Doesn’t your furry friend deserve comfort?  Of course they do.  They deserve the best and this is it.  This bed has almost 2000 positive reviews on Amazon with a 4.6 star rating.  It comes in 4 different sizes, so you’ll be sure to find the right one.

It is made with solid 4″ memory foam.  There is a waterproof liner to protect the foam.  The top is a breathable cotton blend.   Of course, it is removable and easy to clean.  Given these points, a 4.6 rating seems real.

The funny thing in our house is that my kid spends more time on it than the Lab.

Petcube Bites 2

The all in one pooch cam.  You can watch what they’re up to when you are away.  This device also allows you to talk to your canine.  As a cool feature, you can also give them treats.

Who knows maybe your videos of your pooch will go viral.

BarkBox Subscription

BarkBox is a canine subscription box that you get monthly.  Each month has a different theme.  The contents of the boxes are toys and treats.

Goughnuts

How could you not love the name of this toy?  If your canine loves tug of war, then this is your new rope.  The reviews indicate that it is tough and well made.

There is one thing you need to be careful of.  If your pooch shakes their head when they have a toy in their mouth.  This thing can become a weapon.

Door Bell with Wireless Touch

dog doorbell

Train your pooch to let you know when they want in or when they want out.  Sometimes it’s hard to read their minds, so let them tell you.  They only issue I see, is if you have a passive aggressive pooch.

I’m sure my Lab would be ringing the bell at 2:30 every morning.

Claudia’S Canine Cuisine 24-Piece Peanut’S Peanut Butter Cup Treats

These things look good enough for me to eat.  Spoil your pup with these awesome peanut butter treats.  If you read the reviews most pooches love these.

Another funny thing in the reviews are that people asking if they can eat them.  If people are debating about eating a dog treat, they must look awesome.

The Christmas Eve Secret of 2016

Thankfully, most of you were spared the events that occurred on December 24, 2016.  If the situation was known at the time, there would have been a global panic.  Most children are unaware how close they came to not getting any presents on Christmas morning.  Since a year has nearly lapsed, we feel that it is safe for you to know what really happened last Christmas eve.

It all started with Comet the Reindeer and a sprained hoof that sidelined Santa’s power-house reindeer.  Santa could not do his Christmas Eve trip with a reindeer short.  Luckily, the North Pole has several back-up reindeer that train for this very situation.  Unfortunately for Santa, they were all millennial reindeer.

What does it matter that they were millennial reindeer?  Apparently a lot.  The Reindeer Games always determined the backup order for the sled.  However, unknown to Santa, the 2016 Reindeer Games were different.  Because of hurt feelings from previous losers, the millennial reindeer decided that they would not play to win but play to have fun.  So there was no winners, no losers, just participants.  Additionally, the reindeer all believed that any replacement should be entitled to a pay raise.  Santa couldn’t deal with this type of behavior, so he called an old friend for some advice.

The Dog That Saved Christmas

Yellow Labrador Puppy Cali the Dog image for the Christmas Dog VideoEnter Cali the Yellow Labrador.  She always knew that she was meant for greatness, ever since she was a little pup.  Went Santa called that afternoon, she didn’t hesitate for one second.  Cali knew what had to happen, and who was going to make it happen.  Even though she wasn’t a reindeer and she couldn’t fly, she stepped up to help pull Santa’s sleigh.

Christmas Eve 2016 was saved because of one dog’s determination.

We do not have any video of the actual flight of 2016.  However, we were fortunate enough to have a video of the Santa Call.

Thankfully this Christmas Dog Video was discovered.  Thank you Cali!
